15 Ways to become carbon free citizen

Not for a profit but for Green cause

Want to live a more environmental friendly life but don't know how? Well, all you need to do is follow eight simple steps.

Below are listed 15 easy ways to be eco-friendly around the house:

1. Clean out your storage: Take out the items that are not in use anymore and organize them in different groups. Then decide what to do them accordingly.
2. Recycle more and buy recycled: After grouping what you want to discard, think of how and where to recycle these products or donate them for reuse. A way to recycle smart is to buy items made from recycled content and with limited packaging.
3. Use energy more wisely: Use compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), which use 20 per cent of the energy of incandescent bulb and also last 10 times longer. Keep a check on your energy bill to monitor the trends every month and ask your energy company about renewable alternatives.
4. Use less water: Saving water is important because it is a limited resource, either by taking short showers or putting a bottle in your toilet tank. You can also reuse water around the house, such as using cooking water for plants, which may provide nutrients to the plant.
5. Start composting: Composting is a great way to reduce your waste and help your garden at the same time. Most food scraps and biodegrade material like cardboard, which may produce nutrient-rich fertilizer, can be easily used.
6. Invest in energy-efficient appliances: Try and start replacing older appliances in your home with more energy-efficient ones. This may reduce energy output and save money on electricity bill.
7. Start a Green Group: Activities like carpooling can be arranged by talking with friends about the importance of conserving. Develop programs and activities in your neighborhood for others to get involved.
8. Plant a tree: The original carbon offset. Planting a tree can not only reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the air, but can also provide shade for your home. This may even help in reducing energy costs and will provide fruits that you won't have to buy at the store.
9. Drive Less: Walk, bike, carpool, or take mass transit. All of these things can help reduce green gas consumption and one pound of carbon dioxide for each mile you do not drive.
10. Avoid product with lots of packaging: Preventing waste from being created in the first place means that there is less energy wasted and fewer energy consumed. When you purchase product with least amount of packaging, not only do you save money but you also help the environment.
11. Go local: Idea is to go local and save energy by minimizing need of transportation, Cargo movement, information reuse. 21st century is of globalization but 22nd century is all about localization.
12. Be volunteer: Become volunteer when it comes to save the earth. Demonstrate, educate and meet with people for save earth campaign. In short “Green action speaks louder then the word”
13. Use of alternate Energy: Use alternate energy (Solar, wind, biomass) in small scale or commercial scale to reduce dependency on fossil fuel. Increase green subsidy and investment on alternate energy to surpass conventional energy usage.
14. Plan driving ahead of time: Plan your route or traveling ahead of time to not get struck in traffic. Because 20% of daily energy is wasted in traffic (as per survey).
15. Is there other way for these: Ask your self, what is the other green way to do this things right. User as much alternate as you can to avoid use of conventional energy next time.
